You can SAVE lives and STABILIZE families

Judy* needed a lawyer. So did Marcus*. Judy endured 10 years of abuse by her son’s father. Marcus* tried to get his landlord to fix a long list of threatening problems. Neither could afford an attorney.  That’s when Neighborhood Legal Services stepped in, to provide quality legal representation, thanks to the generous support of people like you. Today, both Judy and Marcus live safer, more stable lives because of your donation.

Throughout Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties, when you give to Neighborhood Legal Services, you help individuals and communities grow stronger. Please give today.

Champion of Justice

The past few years have been tough for everyone — but one silver lining has been the immense compassion and generosity that so many people like you have shown through your support of Neighborhood Legal Services. With the continuing commitment of our donors and volunteers, Neighborhood Legal Services provided legal aid to 9,909 individuals and their families last year making the difference between homelessness and home, danger and safety, and poverty and security for over 21,000 of our neighbors in need. Thank you for being a champion of justice.

Profile of Support

Gary Lang, Esq. is a long-time pro bono volunteer attorney with Neighborhood Legal Services. He is also a generous supporter. “Providing pro bono legal help at Neighborhood Legal Services has opened my eyes to the challenges of those less privileged in our community. So, in addition to volunteering, I am also a supporter of the organization and I’d encourage anyone who cares about civil, legal justice to give generously,” said Lang. Tech Innovation Helps NLS Deliver

NLS has fully embraced technology improvements constantly looking for new ways to improve service delivery and create efficiencies. Through the generous support of funders like the Eden Hall Foundation, NLS created an online legal wellness tool that assists clients in identifying areas of legal risk and resources to remedies. NLS also recently received a Technology Improvement Grant from the Legal Services Corporation to conduct a technology assessment and security audit.

Earlier this year, TheAppPlace (TAP) Innovations, a leading provider of cloud-based integration solutions across people and data enterprises, worked to create integrated core business systems for Neighborhood Legal Services. TAP Innovations generated employee time transfer efficiencies with automated workflows between NLS’s new Paycor HR system and our LegalServer case management software. “This upgrade in our technology demonstrates our ongoing commitment to working more efficiently so we can maximize our resources and at the same time, serve our clients compassionately and effectively,” said Kris Bergstrom, NLS Executive Director.
