NLS Works to Ensure Equal Access to Justice

Today, civil legal aid organizations like NLS are often the only path to justice for our most vulnerable neighbors. It’s a fact: people who can afford to hire a private attorney are statistically more likely to win or settle cases in their favor. This income-based inequality is called the “justice gap.”

With your help we can narrow that gap and assist low-income families and individuals in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties get qualified legal assistance.

And because of support like yours, our doors will always be open. Thank you! Learn more about our Equal Justice Campaign here.

Generosity of #ONEDAY Giving

We are proud to share that during the Pittsburgh Foundation’s #ONEDAY Critical Needs Campaign conducted last month, generous community members donated $2,961 to support neighbors in need of housing stabilization, eviction prevention and other critical legal services. Whether you made a gift or helped to spread the word, thank you. To learn donate or learn how your support helps your neighbor, visit here.

Pro Bono Attorneys Help Save Families

Attorneys who volunteer their time and expertise to help those impacted by domestic abuse are literal lifesavers. In critical moments, survivors of abuse are seeking justice, safety, and a chance to rebuild their lives. NLS pro bono attorneys provide legal support desperately needed to break free from the cycle of violence. Join us in the fight by becoming a volunteer or call Mary Ann Troper-Malley.
